Using external expertise
When you’re just starting up, you may need help in areas where you lack knowledge and expertise, marketing, finance or IT, for example. If you use external consultants, make sure you have a consultancy agreement in place which covers issues, such as remuneration, copyright, obligations, and notice. This will help prevent disputes arising and protect against claims of negligence or breach of contract later.

Creating a website
Today, the Internet has become the main source of information about products and services, so even the smallest business will need to have a website if it is to be visible to prospective customers. However, if you use your website to capture information about potential customers – an online enquiry form, for example – make sure you have a privacy policy in place in order to comply with Data Protection laws.
